The dinosaur that I have chosen is the Deinonychus.
Here are the facts that I found out:
It's name means 'terrible claw'.
They had long hooked claws on its hands. These helped them grab their prey and tear at the skin to get to the meat because just like the tyrannosaurs they were meat eaters.
The second toe on each of its feet had a huge hooked claw. They could flick this down like a knife to cut up what it had hunted.
It probably had feathers like other raptors. This helped people believe that birds descended from dinosaurs.
It was part of the raptor family.
It probably lived in North America. In 1931 they discovered fossils in Southern Montana.
They were hunters and fierce and lived about 110 million years ago. They were about the size of adult person.
They lived during the Mesozoic Era during the Cretaceous Period.
It had about 60 teeth.

I love dinosaurs. Some of my other favourite dinosaurs are Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Ankylosaurs and T-rex! Do you like dinosaurs? What is your favourite dinosaur?
I am a student at St Francis of Assisi Catholic School. I am in Year 7 and my teacher is Miss Parker. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.
