Maths W3 T2

This week for maths we have been leaning rounding and compensating using multiplication. Now I already know rounding and compensating but I don't know how to do it using multiplication so this is new to me. So the task they wanted us to do was write 2 word problems using rounding and compensating multiplication so here is my work.

Do you know how to use rounding and compensating multiplication and can you solve these word problems?

Maths W1/2 Term 2

This week and Last week we have been looking at Probability. If you don't know what Probability is, Probability is what you would use in maths to show if something might or might not happen and you can use Probability in many ways. Probability isn't very hard once you get the hang of it. Any ways here is my Maths.

Do you know how to use Probability?

Reading W1/2 Term 2

This week we have been looking at the concept on Kaitiakitanga. For our Reading we had to read two text's for us to study and answer questions about the text's we read. I chose to read Te Tapa Ingoa and Ra'ui: Giving back to the Gods and I learnt lots from reading these text's. So here is my Reading work.

Have you read any of these text's and did you know any of this information?

Writing W9/10

For last and this week for writing we needed to write a poem. We were given this task last week but we are showing it this week so I did all my work during the long weekend. The poem we needed to write was about Ngai Tahu and something related to them so I wrote about the Aveon river in Christchurch. I also used Line breaks and a simile in my poem. So anyways here is my poem.

Have you written a poem before? Bye!

Maths W9

This week for maths we made Maori patterns using: Reflection, Rotation, Translation and Enlargement. If you don't know what these are then I'll explain so Reflection is when you mirror the shape, Rotation is when you rotate the shape, Translation is when you move the shape up or down or side to side and Enlargement is when you make the shape bigger. So anyways here are my examples and finished work.

(Ignore the one on the top left that's just a mistake.)

Can you draw a Maori pattern?

Reading W9

This week for reading we had options for our create task. The one that I did was a Venn Diagram about the Canterbury Museum and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. But before I did that I read two texts about them witch gave me some info to work with. I put down 4 similarity's and 4 different's on both of them. So here is my finished work.

Have you ever made a Venn Diagram before and if you have what was it about?
