Then the next year we came back and the same inflatable was there. I was thinking to myself "I'm going to do it!!" I lined up with the other kids and tried a couple of times but I still couldn't do it. Then I tried one more time. I tried to get a really good swing. I pulled up my legs and managed to get my legs around the inflatable pole on the other side. I pushed myself off and pulled myself up. I was very excited that I could do it. I had found the technique that helped me be successful.
I know this isn't as brave as landing a plane on the Hudson River but it was still pretty cool though!
What is something that you have had to try lots of times to be successful at? Thank goodness that Sully was successful first time!!

ReplyDeleteWow, it was exceedingly brave of you to come back the second year and have another go!
Perseverance is the key to success, and you definitely had a lot of perseverance.
I have never been to the pool in Timaru, but by the way you have described it it sounds fantastic! Obstacle courses are always so much fun to take part in, especially when they are on the water, so it is great to see the Timaru pool full of such equipment.
I am glad that you felt proud of yourself after completing such an accomplishment. Being resilient and brave is such a great trait to have, and there are many different ways that you can be these things.
Landing a plane on the Hudson River was exceedingly brave of Sully, and he managed to do so without losing any lives!
He is an incredible human being who’s quick thinking and brave actions saved the lives of many. Do you like the movie ‘Sully’? If so, what is your favourite part?
I enjoy playing my ukulele, although I am not the best at it! I practice a lot so that I can get faster with my chord changes, and I have noticed that the more I have been practising, the faster I have been getting. It is a little bit like you and the obstacle course. Sometimes I just need to take a break from attempting certain chord progressions, and when I come back, I am able to do them.
